The UFP Anthem

And the lyrics it inspired in me #startrek

There is an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine which has a scene where the showrunner does something nobody has ever done before or since.

They played the anthem of The United Federation of Planets.

The episode was “Take Me Out To The Holosuite,” and it takes place in a holosuite simulation of a baseball stadium. As far as I can tell, they never played the anthem anywhere else, in any other Trek series.

The first time I heard the anthem being played, I knew what the lyrics had to be. So here, below, is the video playing this anthem … followed by my lyrics.

Hark to my words: this vow I swear
To travel on the paths no one shall dare
