There is much in the way of fact and mythology that is attached to tea. This short post is not about them. It’s about how I enjoy my tea.
For a start, nowadays I drink my tea without milk, sugar, or sweeteners such as honey. Wherever possible, I get my tea freshly drawn in a pot, so I can have as much, or as little, as I like in a sitting.
I could do with a smaller cup, because these days I only pour a little tea into the cup, enough to cover the bottom and maybe 3-4 mm.
And when I hold the cup, it’s usually in my left hand, my elbow bent at 90 degrees, my forearm held vertically, the tea cup held in the palm of my hand, swirling its contents around.
I take my time drinking my tea. I take my time enjoying this pleasure.
