Free Time
What To Do Now ...
My working schedule is fairly busy on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. But the rest of the week is mine.
This is the first week where it finally began to dawn on me what that means. Other than half term breaks, the Yuletide holiday and, of course, the summers of 2020, 2021, and 2022, I have not had a full Thursday all to myself since the Summer of 2019.
And from today on, all my Thursdays are mine, to do with what I will.
My courses in Welsh began in September of 2019, and Thursdays during term times in 2019/2020, 2020/21, 2021/22, and 2022/23 have all been taken up with one kind of Welsh course or another.
And, as was pointed out last week, that four year period of my life is now over.
I have to remember what I used to do on Thursdays before I began visiting Coleg Cambria or sitting in front of my laptop waiting for the zoom call to open.
Instead, I think I might have to do something new for Thursdays.
Some ideas:-
I have my translation of Frostbyte Books’ Comae Engine into Welsh to complete.
I have ideas for supplements for Comae Engine.
I could post something weekly on my tumblr blog, Rhywbeth Cymraeg.
I have an outline for a Welsh language novel, Pobl Cysgodiol. “Shadow People.”
So much freedom, knowing that I now have all day Monday and all day Thursday to myself. I could dedicate Thursdays to Welsh language activities.
I’ll let you know what happens. But for right now, for today, I have been learning to breathe freely again, knowing I don’t have that huge pressure on me any more.
