Defining cool
Just a short post today, and it’s late on a Friday too.
This last week has been particularly testing of my cool. Challenging, to say the least. But as someone once pointed out to me, it is easy to meditate in a temple, a long way from noisy civilisation, amid chanting and a Zen garden. Not so easy to meditate on a rush hour bus going to work, in the pouring rain, with mothers with screaming babies sitting a few feet from you.
If you can find your cool inside a hot, sweaty, mobile tin can driving through pouring rain towards what you know will be an unpleasant day cooped up behind a desk, answering the phone all day long - you will be able to find your cool anywhere.
