Approaching The End
... of 2024
We started this year with such high hopes.
It’s been a rough year for me. Dad’s spent more time in hospital than at home. He’s home now, but his life quality is greatly diminshed from what it once was.
I lost my job. The boss told me it had been a hard decision for him.
I’ve begun to move away from Zuckbook and Musktown. I’m on Discord, Sky, tumblr, MeWe, Sharesome, BDSMlr, LinkedIn, Dreamwidth, here, Youtube, Archive Of Our Own …
I really began to appreciate the few Youtube channels I follow. Kelly-Ann Maddox, with her sweet, punk, witchy vibe; Fascinating Horror; even TrekCulture, with their fascination for all things Star Trek.
Strangely enough, despite there being an all-new lineup of some of the most fascinating hypnosis courses, I’ve been pulling away from the Hypnosis Training Academy’s new materials. I’ve bought enough of their stuff; I’m going to spend the next few years reading up and perfecting my hypnosis skills with what I’ve already bought.
Speaking of reading, I’ve taken to reading a bunch of books again. Real print on paper, not glowing words on a screen. And we’re talking about classics. The Divine Comedy; How To Win Friends And Influence People; Frankenstein; Dracula; and A Christmas Carol, a pleasure I have reserved for myself for two weeks from now.
Some of my books aren’t classics. Motivational Imperative and Building Your Cult by Dantalion Jones; Want, edited by Gillian Anderson (yes, her); and The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene, as well as Pumed Gainc Y Mabinogi and Cysgod Y Mabinogi by Peredur Glyn Webb-Davies.
Two books I have taken to with a passion are by the aforementioned Kelly-Ann Maddox. Rebel Witch, her first book, came out a short time back, and Witch In Darkness came out this October just gone, at just the right time for me as I was in the process of losing my job at the time.
I would like to take a look at some of these books, even to write up articles here on individual books, some classics, some modern. So maybe expect to see some stuff about these books in coming weeks.
So I’ve been in darkness for much of this year, and I didn’t really get to enjoy a summer like normal people did. And now 2024 is drawing to a close, with just three weeks left of the year.
Here’s a list of celebrations for 2025. I think I’ll find an excuse to celebrate some of them.
